Fictional Men I’d Date II
You didn't think I only had 3 fictional men I'd date did you? It's why I did a part II! I hope this brings cheer and laughter this week!
Fictional Men I’d Date II
Why do we fall in love with fictional characters? Is it because the current dating culture is trash and many of us are old souls who desire more than casual sex and hookup culture and situationships? I believe that’s a huge part of it. Another part of it is, we fall in love with how authors of books as well as screenwriters of tv shows and Hollywood blockbusters, use bits and pieces of real people and create nonexistent people into our deepest desires. A month ago, I did a Substack post about fictional men I’d date. Now is time for part II!
Book
Mike Brink The Puzzle Box by Danielle Trussoni
What’s not to like about Mike Brink? He’s brilliant and can solve puzzles. I like how he is an animal lover because he’s got a dog and even though I’m not a football fan, his muscles from his football days can keep me safe from harm. I also liked how in The Puzzle Box he had to realize that life didn’t always work out the way he wanted it to, but that he realized the true nature of his extraordinary gift. I can relate because its easy to focus on what we don’t have or how things didn’t work out, that its easy to miss what already has worked out in our favor and that things will get better. Mike and I would be kindred spirits I think.
TV
Ohno from Tokyo Vice (portrayed by Takayuki Suzuki)
Yes, I bring up Tokyo Vice based off the memoir by Jake Adelstein again. When it came to attractive male for the female viewers, this show did not disappoint. In season 2 after finding out my poor Miyamoto was indeed killed, in episode 2 of season 2 they bring in a handsome architect named Ohno. I still missed Miyamoto, but I was interested. Ohno other than being handsome, he had brains obviously because he’s an architect, not to mention he was very charming. I do appreciate an ambitious man with a great personality. It sucked when his character gets killed a few episodes later because I wanted to know more about his backstory. All my crushes in that show got killed off.
Movie
Shang Chi from Shang Chi and The Legend Of The Five Rings (portrayed by Simu Liu)
Shang’s muscle’s are nice to look at and I’m not into the overly beefy guys. I like how throughout the movie, Shang grows and he stops comparing himself to his father and instead of running from him, he stands up to him and does the right thing in the end. That shows a lot of growth. His fighting skills are excellent and I know if I’m in danger I know who to call lol! I appreciate a man who can protect.
Conclusion
Other than daydreaming, I hope this post brought some laughter once again! I know the dating world stinks of trash at the moment but don’t give up hope! More will come in the Fictional Men I’d Date series. Ladies and Gentlemen, comment your choices and tell me which fictional characters from your favorite books, movies and tv shows you’d love to date. I’d love to read your responses!
